V-steaming is a natural healing ritual which is traced back to biblical times and experienced by many different cultures. Although this treatment may sound odd to some, women have been practicing this for centuries. Vaginal steaming provides benefits through natural herbs that soothe, balance, and nourish the reproductive system without disrupting the natural environment of the vagina and uterus
Some benefits of V-Steaming: it helps to maintain optimal uterine health, tighten the vaginal walls, increase libido, promote healthy reproductive system, helps your digestive health as well as your mental well being. It can also assist in eliminating vaginal odor, dryness, spotting, discharge and symptoms associated with PMS, PMDD, UTIs, STIs, PCOS, menopause, chronic pain, sexual trauma, multiple sex partners, yeast/bacterial infections, infertility, fibroids, endometriosis, cysts, HPV, uterine/bladder prolapse, postpartum, miscarriage, abortion, depression, breaking soul ties, and balancing hormones.
There are times when it is NOT beneficial for a woman to steam:
•If you are pregnant or there is a possibility of pregnancy
• During or after ovulation if you are trying to conceive
• During menstruation
• Fresh spotting or spontaneous bleeding
• With any open wounds, sores, blisters or stitches
• If you have a vaginal infection or fever
• Infection
The above indicates that vaginal steaming is contraindicated. It is not safe and could result in negative side effects
such as the onset of bleeding or a miscarriage. Steaming should not be performed at this time.
CAUTION FOR STEAMING:
• Piercings will need to be removed
• Birth control implant (Nexplanon, Implanon)
If you are using the above birth control methods vaginal steaming could cause a birth control failure.
It is not recommended unless you are okay with a backup form of birth control or you are not concerned about a possible pregnancy.
• Tubal Coagulation (burning of the fallopian tubes through laparoscopic surgery through the belly button)
• If you have an IUD, V-steams help release matter from the uterus. IUD’s are on the caution list but no longer contraindicated. However, you will ask that if you have an IUD, you sign a release form that you are aware of the possibility of your IUD releasing.
